Furniture Company William Alan commissioned the painter to travel to New York City. There they set up furniture pieces in front of the ABC Home & Carpet store on Broadway. Emmett Williams stretched a single canvas and painted everything in view. The painting sold to a Park Avenue resident financial adviser and his wife.
